With over 40 years of experience practicing public finance and bond law in Florida, Herb Boatner, Jr. joins the law firm of Bryant Miller Olive (BMO) in an Of Counsel capacity. Prior to joining BMO, he was at the law firm of Adams and Reese.
In his extensive career, Boatner has represented clients on billions of dollars of public finance projects, including more than $2 billion in toll road financings, more than $1 billion in hospital financings and almost $1 billion in airport financings.
His public finance experience goes well beyond toll roads, hospitals and airports, though. It also includes healthcare facilities, Florida community development districts, special districts, educational facilities, and single and multi-family housing. Boatner specializes in representing state and local governments and authorities, underwriters, borrowers, trustees and banks.
Among many notable projects, he handled the financing of the original Joe Robbie Stadium and the Rickenbacker Causeway, both huge projects in South Florida in the 1980s.
Boatner earned his Juris Doctor from Cornell University in 1972 and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
