Pasco-Hernando State College has announced the investiture of the college’s fourth president, Timothy L. Beard, Ph.D., with a week-long series of inaugural events with the theme Defeating the Odds…Achieving the Dream. The events lead up to the inauguration and celebration of the college’s fourth president.
Celebrating the Dream, is a community event that will focus on the LIFE (Linking In Faith and Education) initiative. The event will be held on Monday, May 2 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grace World Outreach Church in Brooksville, 20366 Cortez Blvd.
Additional PHSC inaugural week activities include: spring commencement ceremonies and nursing pinning ceremony on Wednesday, May 4, and the annual Faculty/Staff vs. Students Softball Game on Thursday, May 5. These events will be held at the West Campus in New Port Richey
The presidential inauguration for Timothy L. Beard, Ph.D. will be held on Friday, May 6 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the PHSC West Campus in New Port Richey, 10230 Ridge Road, in the Performing Arts Center. The Defeating the Odds…Achieving the Dream Celebration Reception will immediately follow the inauguration on Friday, May 6 from 5:30 to 7 p.m., in the Physical Fitness Center, also at the West Campus.
The Defeating the Odds…Achieving the Dream Celebration Reception presenting sponsors include: BMW of Sarasota & Lamborghini Sarasota, the Musunuru Family and Skanska. Proceeds from the event will benefit the PHSC’s President’s Fund for Excellence. Guests are encouraged to bring a new or lightly used book—or any bookstore gift certificate—to ANY inaugural event to benefit students in need at local schools.
