TAMPA, Fla. (April 8, 2016) – Corks 4 a Cause presented a $1,200 check to Brookwood Florida at its “Brookwood in the Gardens” charity event, hosted at Sunken Gardens on April 7.
Brookwood Florida provides a home for girls diverted by abuse, neglect or family dysfunction, in which they learn to be self-sufficient and successful. With their unique four-part program, Brookwood Florida helps girls develop the skills, self-identity and maturity needed to return to their families or live independently.
“This donation will help us fill a huge hole in our budget,” said Pam Mesmer, executive director of Brookwood Florida. “We’re always appreciative of groups who host fundraisers for us. They’re investing in families in their community.”
The funds raised at Brookwood in the Gardens will go toward Brookwood’s therapeutic program to reunify families.

“We’ve built a strong community of like-minded people who have a desire to give back to worthwhile organizations. It helps to have wine there, too,” said Laura Rehbein, president of Corks 4 a Cause.
