SARASOTA COUNTY – Sarasota County will host a career expo/job fair Wednesday, April 20, at Suncoast Technical College (STC), 4748 Beneva Road, Sarasota. The purpose of the expo is to create a venue for job seekers and students to explore career possibilities within government. The event is free and will open to students at 1 p.m. and to the general public at 2:30 p.m. It ends at 6 p.m. The event is free, and no registration is required.
“Sarasota County Government is definitely hiring right now,” said Chief Human Resources Officer Joanie Whitley. “Thanks to a steadily improving economy and a growing demand for services, we’re filling open positions at all levels of our organization.”
The county is hosting the job fair at SCT in hopes of attracting younger job seekers who haven’t considered a career in local government. In addition to various Sarasota County departments, the following agencies are scheduled to participate: the cities of Sarasota and Venice, Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Army Reserve, Sarasota County Schools, Career Source Suncoast and Ad-VANCE Talent Solutions.
