Promoting safe, healthy communities during National Public Health Week,
April 4-April 10
SARASOTA COUNTY -The Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County (DOH-Sarasota) will publicly recognize Children’s World Uniform Supply, a worksite of 12 employees, with a “Platinum” level Healthy Sarasota County Worksite designation certificate. The presentation, coincides with National Public Health Week,
April 4-April 10.
Health officials say worksite wellness is an important aspect of promoting a safe, healthy community. People often spend more time at work than anywhere else and decisions and habits reinforced in a healthy worksite can transcend into other aspects of life. Children’s World Uniform Supply is one of nine worksites in Sarasota County
to achieve milestones in seven high-impact target areas: healthy eating, physical activity, stress reduction, tobacco cessation, illness prevention, breastfeeding support and drug-free workplace. The designation levels, Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Bronze, recognize new or existing efforts to improve employee health based on total points earned.
Through the Healthy Sarasota County Worksite Initiative, businesses are provided no-cost corporate wellness consultations and resources. After completing the designation process, businesses receive a certificate for display, access to the Healthy Sarasota County Worksites e-logo, publicity and recognition on the website, www.healthysarasota.com.
