TAMPA, Fla. – April 1st, 2016 – Adams and Reese partner Marilyn Mullen Healy has been appointed legal counsel for the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, effective Jan. 1, 2016. In her new role, Healy provides legal counsel to the Chamber, advising on national, state and local issues as well as in special interest situations. She also serves as parliamentarian for the organization and represents the Chamber publicly as legal counsel.

Healy is a partner in the Tampa office of Adams and Reese LLP, a multidisciplinary law firm with nearly 300 attorneys and advisors located in 16 offices and 15 markets throughout the southern United States and Washington, D.C. As a member of the firm’s Transactions and Corporate Advisory Services Practice Group, she focuses on land use, real estate and governmental law, including commercial real estate transactions; banking and finance; and governmental relations issues such as public/private partnerships, government contracts and procurement.

Healy has specific experience negotiating and finalizing complex residential/commercial real estate transactions, representing large-scale national retailers and negotiating sophisticated leasing relationships. She also has extensive experience procuring and maintaining development entitlements as well as governmental and quasi-governmental approvals through complex local, state and federal processes.

Healy has served on the Chamber’s board of directors from 2010 and has held various committee leadership roles. Healy is a member of the Urban Land Institute Tampa Bay and is a previous member of their Management Committee. She is also a trustee and board member for the Hillsborough County Bar Foundation. Additionally, Healy is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), the Real Estate Investment Council (REIC), and many other professional and local organizations.
