SARASOTA, FL — Consecra Housing Network – which manages two 40-unit affordable housing communities in Sarasota for adults with disabilities – recently honored Irving Woods with the “Maggie Cup” for his extraordinary leadership, dedication and service to the people served by the organization. Woods has chaired the board of Orchard Place of Sarasota, which Consecra owns and manages, for more than 10 years and the National Consecra Housing board in Chicago, Ill., for the past three.
In Sarasota, Goodwill Manasota has retained Consecra for the management of Beneva Oaks Apartments, a facility consisting of 40 apartments for adults with disabilities. Beneva Oaks is owned by Goodwill and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; the community has operated at full capacity – with a waiting list – for many years.
The “Maggie Cup” is named after Keith Magnuson, a longtime friend and supporter of Consecra Housing, who was a historic defenseman and head coach for the Chicago Blackhawks from 1969-1980. Consecra Housing Network is a faith-based national leader in creating and managing homes, and positively changing the lives of seniors and individuals or families with special housing needs. Nationally, Consecra provides affordable housing for more than 2,000 residents.
