March 22, 2016 (Sarasota, FL) Samaritan Counseling Services of the Gulf Coast has elected Bonney Miller and Leah Turner Cotter to the Board of Directors as of February 2016. Miller and Cotter are both longtime supporters and active volunteers for Samaritan.
Miller has served on the Annual Luncheon Committee for several years, chaired two years for the Advent Dinner at Church of the Palms, served on the Marketing and Fundraising Committee, and is currently active on the committee for the Golf Tournament. “I believe in the mission and the services provided by Samaritan for our community,” stated Miller. “I enjoy serving as an ambassador in any way I can for this important and imperative organization. When you can see the direct impact of the work done by the staff and the counselors to serve the region with exceptional, quality care, it makes you want to be involved.”
Cotter, who is currently serving as Chair for the Annual Luncheon Committee, is in her third year of helping with the fundraising event. Along with serving on the committee, Leah is an active community advocate for Samaritan. “I am thrilled to be joining the Board of Samaritan Counseling,” stated Cotter. “I believe so strongly in the work we do to bring the light of hope into the darkest moments in the lives of members of our own community. I am proud to be part of an organization that is working to erase the stigmas associated with mental health conditions and working to heal the whole person, mentally and spiritually.”
