St. Petersburg, Fla. (March 21, 2016) – Grammy-winning saxophonist and flautist Najee, one of the pioneers of contemporary jazz, performs Sunday, April 10 at 7 p.m. at The Palladium Theater, part of our “Mahaffey on the Move” series.
Najee has three platinum and five gold albums, including the enduring classics Najee’s Theme, Day By Day and Songs from the Key of Life: A Tribute to Stevie Wonder. Over the years Najee has worked with many artists including Quincy Jones, George Duke, Chaka Khan and Lionel Richie – and most recently he performed as a special guest artist on Prince’s “Hit and Run” tour.
Najee’s acclaimed 2015 release You, Me and Forever reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Smooth Jazz chart.
