National Business Development Platform helps grow local businesses
TAMPA, Fla. — (March 18, 2016) — TEC Garage, the newest concept for accelerating entrepreneurial success from Tampa Bay Innovation Center, will be holding its second series of CO.STARTERS, a nationally renowned business development platform that helps local communities grow their businesses. TEC Garage is accepting applications now for the nine-week program, which begins Apr. 5, 2016.
“After our successful introduction of CO.STARTERS that served 11 entrepreneurs, we are even more pleased with the prospect of equipping aspiring entrepreneurs with the insights, relationships and tools needed to turn business ideas into action,” says Tonya Elmore, CEO of Tampa Bay Innovation Center. “The St. Petersburg/Tampa area is well served by our participation in this program, which is also offered by more than a dozen other entrepreneurial organizations across the country to support local communities in growing their businesses.”
Unlike traditional platforms, CO.STARTERS applies the lean business modeling methods popular among high-growth startups to businesses of all kinds. TEC Garage has received support from the Duke Energy Foundation to assist in offering the program.
CO.STARTERS will be held on Tuesdays for nine weeks, from 6-9 p.m. at TEC Garage, 244 2nd St. North, St. Petersburg 33701. The cost is $275 and scholarships are available.
CO.STARTERS originated with The Company Lab, a Chattanooga, Tenn. organization that offers programs and events to support local startups and innovators, acting as a catalyst for a healthy entrepreneurial community. The CO.STARTERS model has been tested for years with thousands of local creative entrepreneurs in Chattanooga, Cincinnati and Detroit, and is now available to help other startup communities across the nation.
