Wed., March 16, 5:30 pm, Miller Auditorium, Eckerd College
Boston Globe reporter Stephen Kurkjian will be visiting Eckerd College to discuss his career as an award winning reporter and his recently published book Master Thieves, an investigative novel about the largest art heist in the history of Boston. Kurkjian was a founding member of The Globe’s Spotlight team, which investigated the Boston priest abuse scandal, and its editor from 1979-1986. His 2005 article of the theft of 13 pieces of artwork from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is regarded as the most complete account of the still-unsolved crime. Master Thieves was published by Public Affairs last year and received critical praise from The New York Times, the Boston Globe and The Washington Post. The book has been optioned to TriStar Studios and is currently being adapted into a screenplay.
Kurkjian will also speak about his work as an investigative reporter and the role of the Liberal Arts in a career in journalism. He will be available to sign his book. Public welcome.
