Gulfport, FL: Visit Gulfport Florida all day long on Saturday, March 19, for Gulfport’s third Saturday Art & Gallery Walk, Nautical Flea Market, Beach Bum’s Volley Ball Tournaments, City Wide Yard Sale, live music and more!
The Gulfport Art & Gallery Walk event, produced by the Gulfport Merchants Association, takes place from 6-10 p.m. every third Saturday – rain or shine, all year round, and is home to dozens of artisans and craftsmen each month. This month’s selections may include but are not limited to: wood crafts, sculpture, handmade/designed clothing and accessories, imported metal art, painted glass, aromatherapy, jewelry, upcycled items, body products, pet products, authors, and other artsy crafts.
For your musical entertainment, live musicians appear at several venues throughout the waterfront district including Double M Band at Neptune Grille, Urban Gypsies at Mangia Gourmet, Dale Williams sings Sinatra at the Peninsula Inn & Spa and Pete and Dean at O’Maddy’s Bar & Grille.
Additional third Saturday activities include the following: Mermaid Bay Mercantile Co will host professional level chalk artist Dorothy (Dee) Sabean. Dee will be creating live chalk art on site and showing her work throughout the store. Beer, wine and light hors d’oeuvres will be offered. Tampa Bay Beach Bums Volley Ball Tournaments on Gulfport Beach take place at 10:00 a.m. & 4:00 p.m.
Artisan & Craft Beer selections & Happy and Yappy Hours; Little Tommie’s Tiki offers Happy Hour from 3-6 PM with drink and appetizer specials, local brews by 3 Daughters St. Pete and Cigar City Tampa and house made red and white sangria. O’Maddy’s Bar & Grille features Cigar City Maduro and Tampa Bay Brewery Reef Donkey local brews on tap. Siri’s Gourmet Burgers & Pizza suggests Kona Brewing’s Longboard Lager from Kona Hawaii, which pairs nicely with their signature Margarita Pizza. Or for a heartier fare try the Florida Avenue IPA brewed in Tampa, bold enough to stand up to their fresh ground burgers served on homemade buns.
Gulfport’s Historical Waterfront Arts District spans 6 city blocks that includes more than 35 unique and locally owned shops, businesses, boutiques, galleries, bars, and restaurants. Over the last few years, several new art venues have popped up around town including Country Harvest Craft Studio, Suzanne Vernon Mosaics, August Vernon Studios, Portspace Art Gallery, ProjectFree Gallery & Studio, Mermaid Bay Mercantile Co. and Pitzen Studios. Gulfport is also known as one of the foremost dining destinations in the Tampa Bay area, featuring over a dozen delicious restaurants, and all are within walking distance.
