St. Petersburg Free Clinic is pleased to announce that Gina Ruiz has joined the organization as Director of Communications, bringing four years of marketing and strategic communications experience.
With the St. Petersburg Free Clinic, Ruiz is responsible for communicating the organization’s positive impact in the community through marketing and media relations. In this role, she will promote the Free Clinic’s special events and fundraising activities, assist with internal communications and manage the organization’s social media channels, website and email communications.
“In addition to her marketing and communications skills, Gina has experience in working with community partners and donors that will be beneficial in expanding the Free Clinic’s efforts to help our neighbors in need,” said Beth Houghton, executive director of St. Petersburg Free Clinic.
Most recently, Ruiz was the digital marketing manager at the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg, where she managed online mediums, including its website, social media and email marketing efforts. She also maintained relationships with the YMCA’s community partners, and organized and promoted its special events. She had worked with the YMCA since 2013.
Previously, Ruiz has held marketing and event planning roles with Tampa advertising agency Sky Strategic Marketing and the Kansas City Sports Commission.
Ruiz earned her bachelor’s degree in public relations from Harding University.
