The West Villages, FL— The four neighborhoods in and immediately adjacent to the West Villages community continue to attract buyers at a record-setting pace. There were 449 starts in the West Villages, 122 in adjacent Sarasota National and 149 in nearby Grand Palm, for a total of 720 in 2015.
The West Villages is poised to become one of the top performing communities in the United States. Only The Villages (in Central Fla), The Irvine Ranch (in Orange County, Calif.) and Nocatee (in Jacksonville, Fla.) were selling at a faster pace.
During 2014 there were 542 starts and in 2013 there were 306 in the West Villages area. “We’re just getting started and are already experiencing strength and momentum. Home buyers realize what an ideal place this is to live. It is convenient to shops, restaurants, entertainment, employment centers and the interstate; and yet only 15 minutes from the beach,” explained Martin Black, West Villages general manager.
In the next year, the community will break ground on three new neighborhoods and a major retail and entertainment destination: The Marketplace at Coastamar.
According to Blake Lapinsky, spokesperson for Pulte, developer of Island Walk at the West Villages, “2015 was another extremely successful year for Island Walk as the community once again led the South Florida Division for Pulte Homes in total sales and closings. We saw a 10% increase year-over-year and have already seen signs that the trend will continue in 2016. Traffic has seen a considerable increase with many potential buyers visiting the area for the sole purpose of learning more about the West Villages.”
The Renaissance at the West Villages, which breaks ground this year, features a 32-acre public park which includes a dog park with fenced areas, benches, water and covered pavilion. Walking trails will surround the entire park which will include natural vegetation, benches and a bird watching area.
