(SARASOTA, Fla., February 17, 2016) Sarasota and Manatee county high school students who are interested in financial support for their music studies through the Suncoast Music Scholarships program must have their applications in before the February 29 deadline.
Suncoast Music Scholarships, a new Sarasota Music Club and Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota partnership, is offering a total of $20,000 in music scholarships through a competition open to 10th, 11th and 12th grade students.
Four awards are available for graduating seniors: 1st place – $5,000, 2nd place – $4,000, 3rd place – $3,000, and 4th place – $2,000. These awards are to be used for advanced music education.
Two awards of $2,000 will be offered for 11th grade students, and two $1,000 awards are open to 10th grade students. These awards are to be used for expenses related to the study of music.
Auditions will be held on April 2, and the awards luncheon on April 23 will feature performances by 12th grade scholarship winners.

Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota
Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota was formed in 1996 as Artist Series of Sarasota. The group is a non-profit corporation, based in Sarasota, that presents several major national and international varieties of concert, opera, orchestral, and Broadway performances throughout its season. The majority of the performances are staged at the restored Historic Asolo Theater at The Ringling.
