Gulfport, FL: Visit Gulfport Florida all day long on Saturday, February 20th, for Gulfport’s third Saturday Art & Gallery Walk, Gulfport Masters Fine Art Show, Beach Bum’s Volley Ball Tournaments, Family Movie Day, Gulfport Little League parade, live music and more!
The Gulfport Art & Gallery Walk event, produced by the Gulfport Merchants Association, takes place from 6-10 p.m. every third Saturday – rain or shine, all year round, and is home to dozens of artisans and craftsmen each month. This month’s selections may include but are not limited to: wood crafts, sculpture, handmade/designed clothing and accessories, imported metal art, painted glass, aromatherapy, jewelry, upcycled items, body products, pet products, authors, and other artsy crafts.
For your musical entertainment, live musicians appear at several venues throughout the waterfront district including Double M Band at Neptune Grille, Urban Gypsies at Mangia Gourmet, Joyful Noise with a Side of Jerky at The Art Village Courtyard and Pete and Dean at O’Maddy’s Bar & Grille.
The first ever two-day Gulfport Masters Fine Arts Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday, February 20th and 21st, 2016 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on both days. The festival will be held in Gulfport’s waterfront Veteran’s Park (5350 31st Avenue South). The event is a juried fine art and fine craft show with purchase awards and other prizes for participating artists.
Additional third Saturday activities include the Tampa Bay Beach Bums Volley Ball Tournaments on Gulfport Beach at 10:00 a.m. & 4:00 p.m., complimentary movies at the Gulfport Public Library starting at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and Gulfport Little League’s Opening day ceremonies and parade, which begin at Tomlinson Park at 10:00 a.m.
Gulfport’s Historical Waterfront Arts District spans 6 city blocks that includes more than 35 unique and locally owned shops, businesses, boutiques, galleries, bars, and restaurants. Over the last few years, several new art venues have popped up around town including Domain Home Accessories & Gallery, Country Harvest Craft Studio, Suzanne Vernon Mosaics, August Vernon Studios, Portspace Art Gallery, ProjectFree Gallery & Studio, Mermaid Bay Mercantile Co. and Pitzen Studios. Gulfport is also known as one of the foremost dining destinations in the Tampa Bay area, featuring over a dozen delicious restaurants, and all are within walking distance.
