Literary and other arts & cultural circles will intersect during the second annual SunLit Festival, a weeklong springtime celebration of literature, again raising the profile of our City of the Arts March 4-13. This year’s event will be co-produced by St. Petersburg Arts Alliance and Keep St Pete Lit.
The SunLit Festival will bring together to various literary organizations and arts disciplines to celebrate literacy, literature, reading, and writing for ten days of intoxicating “Litertainment.” A wide range of activities and events will include the Jack Kerouac Birthday Celebration, poetry nights, timed writing contest, literature themed pub-crawl, early literacy conference, poetry night hike, storytelling, writing workshops, horror writers panel, Shakespeare, and conclude with the Florida Antiquarian Book Fair, the third largest antiquarian book fair in the US.
The Arts Alliance will partner with Keep St. Pete Lit, the St. Petersburg Public Library System, Lighthouse Books, Antiquarian Book Fair, The Kerouac House, Wordier Than Thou, Dr. Carter G. Woodson African American Museum, Bloom Arts Center, Horror Writers Association, St. Petersburg Shakespeare Festival, Poetry Nuts, and Studio @ 620.
Plans are almost complete and will include 32 events in 22 venues over 10 days.
