During the entire month of February the hospital is lighting the outside of the hospital and Citrus Park ER red to promote heart disease awareness. The public is invited to stop by and check out the lighting.
On Friday, February 5, the hospital invites anyone who comes to the hospital to “Wear Red!” Staff, volunteers, and the public are encouraged to break out their red dress, t-shirt, tie or anything red to promote heart disease awareness to family, friends, and coworkers. On February 23 the hospital will present “Can You Reverse Heart and Vascular Disease?” This lecture presented by Rias Ali, MD, interventional cardiologist, will be held on Tuesday, February 23 at 12 noon. Dr. Ali will discuss dietary lifestyle changes and medications focusing on prevention, progression, and possible reversal of heart and vascular disease. He will discuss how diseases/problems in one area may affect other areas in the body. He will also discuss life after a heart attack, as well discuss stents, bypass surgery and blockages through the arteries supplying the legs and neck. A complimentary light lunch will be provided.
