SARASOTA, Fla. – The Argus Foundation (ArgusFoundation.org), a nonprofit organization dedicated to joining business leaders from diverse industries and leveraging their talents and experience to benefit the community, held its first Clay Shooting Competition last week at Knight’s Trail Park in Nokomis.
Twenty four-person teams competed for bragging rights during the 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. tournament. Individual and team top honors were awarded to:
Andrea Cox – best overall female shooter
George Mazzarantani – best overall male shooter
Halfacre Construction Company – best overall female team
Atlas Insurance – best overall male team for the red course
Icard Merrill – best overall male team for the blue course
“Our inaugural clay shooting tournament was very successful,” said Rod Hershberger, board chairman of The Argus Foundation and CEO of PGT Industries. “It was a great opportunity for Argus Foundation members and local business executives to network, compete and enjoy one of the region’s best and most beautiful outdoor parks.”
