Tampa, FL (February 1, 2016) – The Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA) and its general engineering consultant, HNTB Corporation (HNTB) are hosting a Small Business Opportunity Forum to help businesses better understand how to access contracting and procurement opportunities in the tolling industry. The special forum will take place on February 3, 2016 from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM in the First Floor Boardroom of the THEA Traffic Management Center, located at 1104 E. Twiggs Street.
The Small Business Opportunity Forum will showcase opportunities within THEA’s 5 year work plan and provide a general overview of Small Business Enterprise (SBE) opportunities in the tolling industry. The forum will include presentations by THEA and HNTB and allow for networking opportunities for attendees. SBE’s will also be invited to engage in HNTB’s mentor- protégé program. There is no charge to attend the forum, but attendees must register by e-mailing Rebecca Bonner at HNTB Corportation; firstname.lastname@example.org.
THEA provides equal opportunity for all eligible businesses, regardless of their size, to participate in its activities. However, recognizing the challenges faced by small businesses in the transportation construction contracting industry and the value of small businesses to the region’s financial success, THEA has adopted a policy to support small businesses and provide mechanisms to highlight contracting opportunities and utilize SBE’s services in design and construction contracts. The Small Business Opportunity Forum is a unique opportunity for small businesses to engage with THEA and HNTB in a casual setting.
