SARASOTA/BRADENTON, FL – The Law Place recently named Goodwill Manasota as its “Business Partner of the Year” for 2015 in recognition of a year of partnerships and collaborative events that began soon after the company launched in Sarasota in June 2015. With more than 75 years of combined experience, The Law Place attorneys are actively involved in representing community members in the courtroom, and giving back to the community.
“We are grateful to The Law Place for recognizing Goodwill Manasota as its Business Partner of the Year. We are proud to have partners in this community that believe in our mission and strive to showcase great corporate social responsibility,” said Veronica Brandon Miller, vice president of the Goodwill Manasota Foundation. “The Law Place is a wonderful example of a local business that gives back to the community. It’s even apparent in the office décor: they have dedicated their office space to commemorating local veterans by sharing photos and stories. Thank you for all you do in our community!”
Several attorneys and staff members from The Law Place serve as Goodwill Manasota Ambassadors – community members who have made a commitment to share the mission of Goodwill with the greater community – and volunteers. During the holiday season, a group of attorneys and office staff heard about a Goodwill team member in need and an internal donation drive was held. The group donated a full trailer of basic home necessities, furniture and Christmas presents for the team member’s children.
Additionally, in December, The Law Place partnered with Goodwill Manasota for the first annual Pearl Harbor Memorial Dinner. The successful event, which was free and open to the public, included the presentation of colors by the Vietnam Brotherhood and dinner, among other activities.
“Giving back to our community and helping to serve isn’t what just what we can do – it’s what we should do. We are proud to advocate for the needs of people in our community in legal matters but we also partner with nonprofit organizations such as Goodwill so that we can help in other ways,” said David Haenel, owner of The Law Place. “We are proud to recognize Goodwill as our Business Partner of the Year and we support its mission and ability to change lives in our community.”
