St. Petersburg, Fla. (Jan. 25, 2015) – Music legend Brian Wilson has announced a 2016 world tour to celebrate and perform the iconic album Pet Sounds for a final time, in honor of its 50th anniversary. This very special show will visit The Mahaffey Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 7:30 p.m.
Originally released on May 16, 1966, Pet Sounds is universally hailed as one of the greatest albums of all time.
Wilson and his band will be joined by former bandmates Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin. Fans can expect a live performance of Pet Sounds in its entirety, as well as top hits and fan favorites spanning his 54-year career with The Beach Boys and as a solo artist.
“It’s really been a trip to sit here and think about releasing Pet Sounds 50 years ago,” says Wilson. “I love performing this album with my band and look forward to playing it for fans all across the world.”
Tickets, $55.50, $65.50, $75.50 and $85.50, go on sale to the public Saturday, Jan. 30 at noon. Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts members can buy tickets Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. Tickets will be available online at themahaffey.com, charge by phone at 727.893.7832 or in person at The Mahaffey Theater Box Office. The Mahaffey Box Office is open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday or at least 90 minutes prior to any ticketed event. There are no added charges ever on tickets purchased directly from The Mahaffey Theater.
