Ceremony to recognize donors scheduled for 11:15 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 22
TAMPA, Fla. (Jan. 21, 2016) – The University of South Florida College of Engineering will celebrate its 20-year partnership with Keysight Technologies, Inc. during a lab naming ceremony at 11:15 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 22.
USF will recognize Keysight’s virtual software system donation, which is currently in use at the college, by renaming the Center for Wireless and Microwave Information Systems (WAMI) as Keysight Technologies Wireless Laboratory.
The WAMI lab was founded 20 years ago with an equipment grant from Keysight and matching funds from the National Science Foundation. Through the years that followed, Keysight – through its in-kind software donations – has been a top donor to USF, with gifts valued at more than $203 million. That represents USF’s largest in-kind gift ever. In-kind donations are a form of charitable giving that provides goods and services instead of a cash gift.
The event will be held in Glenn A. Burdick Hall (Engineering Building II). Parking will be available in lot 8C. A campus map can be found here.
After the brief ceremony, reporters are invited to speak with university officials, Keysight representatives and current USF electrical engineering students.
