JANUARY 19, 2016 | St. Petersburg, FL – St. Pete Young Professionals (SPYP) announces their 2016 Executive Board. The diverse board consists of 21 young professionals in industries ranging from finance, medicine, nonprofits to higher education. Former St. Pete Young Professionals Arts & Economic Development Chair, Justin Bean, takes over as Council Chair. Bean’s first initiative is CONNECT, a monthly networking event for young professionals in the area.
“2016 will be a huge year for St. Pete Young Professionals. The executive board and I plan to take the organization in a new direction through monthly networking opportunities called CONNECT, public policy outreach, and leadership development programs,” says Bean.
St. Pete Young Professionals was formed in 2006 by the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce. The organization engages young leaders, ages 22-40, by providing opportunities to expand professional and personal horizons. Members of St. Pete Young Professionals gain access to prominent community leaders, exclusive events, and equally ambitious peers.
“2016 marks the tenth anniversary for the St. Pete Young Professionals,” says President and CEO of the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce, Chris Steinocher. “This year’s board is ambitious, hardworking, and ready to make effective change in St. Petersburg. I look forward to seeing the progress that this council will make in St. Pete this year.”
As the premier organization of its kind in the area, St. Pete Young Professionals helps members get involved in the St. Pete business and cultural scene to impact the current and future marketplace. “We’re devoted to giving young professionals a voice and access to their community,” says Bean. “Our organization is a great way to get engaged and find out about what your peers are doing.”
