St. Petersburg, Fla. (Jan. 13, 2015) – Opening a highly anticipated national tour, acclaimed singer/songwriters Patty Griffin, Sara Watkins and Anaïs Mitchell perform together at The Mahaffey Friday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m.
Every show on the “Use Your Voice” tour is presented in conjunction with the League of Women Voters.
With a career spanning over two decades, Patty Griffin is a 2016 Grammy Award nominee (in the Best Folk Album category) for her recent release Servant of Love. She the recipient of a Grammy for Best Traditional Gospel Album, and The American Music Association’s 2007 Artist of the Year and Album of the Year awards.
Singer and multi-instrumentalist Sara Watkins, first praised for her work as a founding member of Grammy-winning Nickel Creek, has since established an extraordinary solo career including highly acclaimed studio albums and collaborations with artists including John Mayer and The Decemberists, and has made a name for herself on radio with frequent appearances on A Prairie Home Companion.
Anaïs Mitchell has been compared to Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Gillian Welch for her musical style, sound and performance. Winner of the Kerrville Festival’s “New Folk Award” and nominee for the Folk Alliance’s “Best Contemporary Artist Award,” Mitchell is widely recognized as a unique and impressive young voice in the resurging American folk movement.

The Mahaffey Box Office is open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday or at least 90 minutes prior to any ticketed event. There are no added charges ever on tickets purchased directly from The Mahaffey Theater.
