Clearwater, Florida – December 30, 2015 –Thursday, January 7, 2016 will be a special day for Patzi Gil and her weekly radio talk show, “Joy on Paper,” broadcasted on WTAN-AM Radio 1340 for writers and for everyone who wants to know the story behind a book. Patzi, (who spells her name with a “Z”), is adding Thursdays at 11 a.m. to her already popular 11 a.m. show on Tuesdays. The January 7th program to kick-off her new Thursday show will be an interview with Author Carolyn Hart, Mystery Writers of America Grand Master for 2014, and the recipient of three Agatha Awards. Hart will be the second Grand Master to be interviewed on her program, having recently had Sue Grafton on her show.
A new feature on Patzi’s “Joy on Paper” radio show will be a segment called “Back in Time,” a great authors series in which she will interview famous writers from the past. The first in this new series, which will begin in February, will find Patzi ‘zipping’ Back in Time to February 1949 to interview Ernest Hemingway. Patzi is partnering with actors from the Pinellas Actors, Screenwriters & Crew Productions, who will portray the various historically famous authors on her program.
Patzi’s “Back in Time” series is a vivid example of what has made “Joy On Paper’ such a success in a very short time. A film screenwriter with a deep affection for books and an avid reader, Patzi launched her program less than a year ago. In that time, she has managed to interview some of the post popular and bestselling authors in world, such as Robin Cook, Brad Meltzer and most recently, as mentioned, Sue Grafton. But her accomplishments haven’t stopped there. She has also interviewed U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera upon his appointment in the fall of 2015; and Col. Leo Thorsness, recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions during the Vietnam War and author of the book “Surviving Hell,” in which he recalls the horrendous experiences he and other F-105 pilots endured as POWs.
Despite creating impressive nationwide recognition for her show, Patzi has not limited her program to merely interviewing nationally famous best-selling authors. She is deeply committed to spreading the word about local writers and their literary works as well in the Tampa Bay area, and has interviewed numerous Tampa Bay area authors since launching her program in March of 2015.
Additionally, Patzi has made a point to bring various other guests to her show associated with the literary world, such as renowned book agents Irene Goodman, Andrea Brown and Lane Zachary, as well as book critics and publishers.
Patzi says in expanding her radio talk show she is always looking for sponsors for her program. Furthermore, she is constantly seeking local area authors and others in the literary community of Tampa Bay to be featured guests.
