Osprey, FL (December 9, 2015) ZipKord Solutions partnered with Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast to plant ten mangrove trees along the shoreline at Bay Preserve at Osprey as part of their commitment to giving back to the environment. This is the first business to partner with Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast to coordinate a mangrove planting event in the community.
“ZipKord Solutions is a proactive collaborator and model corporate citizen because of experiences they create for their employees, like the mangrove-planting project at our Bay Preserve,” commented Christine P. Johnson, President of Conservation Foundation. “We are pleased to partner with a locally-based business to protect precious shoreline from erosion and increase the habitat of numerous shoreline species.”
The newly planted mangrove trees will work to protect the shoreline from erosion and protect the land from high winds and waves, and serve as home to several species that live along the shore and in the water. In addition, mangroves break down pollutants and play a large role in carbon sequestration (the capturing and storing of carbon).
“We are partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation, and support what they do. We wanted to find a way to plant trees locally, and give back to our community. We were very pleased with how easy it was to coordinate such an event with Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast and are happy that the work that we are doing today will be helping the environment for years to come,” explained ZipKord President, Jeff Rudd.
