SARASOTA, Fla. – Yellow Strawberry (YellowStrawberryHair.com), a boutique salon in Sarasota and Manatee counties, recently hosted its annual company-wide conference at the Polo Grill & Bar in Lakewood Ranch, Fla., where stylists learned from top hair care professionals and received performance accolades.
During the company’s 20th annual conference on November 16, Yellow Strawberry stylists spent the day with representatives from Bumble and bumble, Kérastase and Wella, who educated the stylists on the latest trends, tips and techniques in color and styling and inspired them with new ideas from top markets.
“We’re excited to be a part of this celebration – mostly to inspire, share and provide a deeper sneak peek into what we like to see stylists doing,” says Erin Armstrong, director of education and Bumble.Live educator for Be.Creative House with Bumble and bumble. “We like to showcase some of the backstage looks from New York Fashion Week straight from designers like Thom Browne. We saw the use of Bb.Thickening Hairspray, extensions and wire.”
Salon stylists received awards in a variety of categories, including:
Best in Retail Percent: Megan Smiley, Shawna Truesdale and Stephanie Pareja
Best in Retail Dollars: Amber Beck
Best in Prebook: Jessica Tarr
Stylists with over 10 years of Yellow Strawberry service: Liliana Chavez, Candy Pena and Rhonda Moore
Best In Retail Dollars and Prebook 2015: Kit Carlson and Becky Clark
Recognized for revenue generated: Meghan Arbuckle, Galina Bokova-Praskievicz, Liliana Chavez, Becky Clark, Felicia McGregor, Teige O’Fee, George Panagiotopoulos, Victoria Romano-Swentner, Lisa Scotti, Laurel Anderson, Kit Carlson, Emily Konke, Candy Pena and Jessica Tarr
“The stylists at Yellow Strawberry are engaged and seek to be creative with clients to keep ahead of trends,” says Richard Weintraub, Yellow Strawberry co-owner and a master stylist of over 40 years. “We aim to bring the latest and greatest – from New York Fashion Week to the newest celebrity styles – into our everyday culture.”
“Today, our focus is couture styling versus treatment styling – we can use products and learn when to use each, depending on sensitivity of the hair,” says Craig Wcislo, an artist and educator for Kérastase.
