Blood Donors Help Patients Like Katie
(St. Petersburg, Florida December 1, 2015) It’s a gift patients like little Katie depend on receiving to survive, and the only place it can come from is you.
Katie is battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. She has already received 30 blood and platelet transfusions and doctors say she will need more as her treatments to battle the disease continue. Thanks to blood and platelet donors Katie will be able to spend the holidays at home. Click HERE to see Katie’s story.
This holiday season, when you see the Big Red Bus or any OneBlood donor center we encourage you to take the time to give the gift of life and donate blood. A few minutes of your time can literally save another person’s life. Blood that is donated today will likely be transfused within two to three days. The turn-around is that fast, the need is constant.
