Watermark Retirement Communities promotes from within for new assisted living community
TAMPA, Fla. (Nov. 30, 2015) — Preparing for the opening of its newest assisted living and memory care community, Watermark Retirement Communities has hired Aileen Carlson as executive director of The Watermark at Trinity. The community, which is located in the Pasco County suburb of Trinity, is expected to open its doors in April 2016.
In this role, Carlson will oversee daily operations of the community and maintain an engaging atmosphere for residents and their families. Currently, she is the as associate executive director at The Fountains at Boca Ciega Bay, a sister property located in St. Petersburg. Carlson is tentatively set to make her transition to The Watermark at Trinity in January 2016.
Since joining Watermark Retirement Communities in 2001, Carlson has held many leadership roles at The Fountains at Boca Ciega Bay, including Director of Community Life, Director of Dining Services, Director of Memory Care Programming and Director of Operations. She received Watermark Retirement Communities’ Dining Services Director of the Year award in 2012, and was nominated for Associate Executive Director of the Year in 2014.
“For the past 14 years I’ve seen Aileen work in a variety of different roles,” said David Barnes, president and CEO of Watermark Retirement Communities. “She has built excellent relationships with our residents, families and associates; I know she will rise to the challenge to build and lead a great team for us here at Trinity.”
The Watermark at Trinity is committed to creating an extraordinary community where people thrive. On-site amenities will include lush gardens, walking paths, a movie theater, beauty salon and barbershop.
The new community will also feature educational classes taught by associates and residents, certified staff and continuous care. Residents will also have the option of Thrive Dining, with hand-held meal portions.
“During my time with Watermark Retirement Communities, I’ve worked in many different departments and always strove to make a difference,” said Carlson. “After 14 years, I’m most excited to wear the hat of Executive Director. It’s the one hat I haven’t worn.”
The Watermark at Trinity will feature 117 apartments available for rent across many unique floor plans and sizes, with the first floor dedicated to memory care. Its sales office is open at 10751 Maple Creek Drive, Suite 104, in Trinity.
