November 25, 2015: Steve Traves, founder and proprietor of AMI Outfitters Coastal Gear & Apparel on Anna Maria Island, is celebrating his company’s third anniversary by expanding to a second location one block from his shop on Pine Avenue in Anna Maria.
Traves says, “We’ve just signed a new lease at our current location at 505 Pine Avenue, but there’s no room to expand. Leasing our second location at 401 Pine Avenue will double our square footage.”
The second shop, also called AMI Outfitters Coastal Gear & Apparel, will focus on one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, fly-fishing from paddleboards. Traves carries BOTE Boards from Fort Walton Beach, whose company slogan is “Fish, Paddle, Surf.” He carries fly-fishing equipment and accessories from top brands including Orvis, Sage, Patagonia, Simms and Nautilus, a fly reel manufacturer in Miami.
Traves attributes his company’s success to highly-personalized service in outfitting his customers with sun-proof clothing and top-quality gear for the outdoor lifestyle, from Island sports to adventure travel. His expertise as an outdoorsman includes 30 years fishing and paddling in local waters.
The public is invited to celebrate AMI Outfitters’ third anniversary during Small Business Saturday®, the nationwide customer appreciation event held every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Traves will be giving away a free gift with purchase on November 28th from 9am to 6pm.
Traves expects his second store to have a soft opening in time for Anna Maria’s annual citywide yuletide celebration, a Holiday Open House from 5pm to 8pm on December 11th in the Pine Avenue shopping district. His second shop’s grand opening is scheduled for January 15th.
