TAMPA, Fla. (Nov. 23, 2015) — Following an application process with more than 50 candidates, the board of Tampa Bay’s Professional Philanthropy Network (PPN) has selected the local charities it will support in 2016.
A networking group that connects Tampa Bay professionals and supports a local charity at each event, PPN hosts happy hours the third Wednesday of every month at different locations in the area. A different charity is featured at each event, and 100 percent of the entry fees and donations go directly to the benefiting organization.
PPN is proud to announce the following charities will benefit from its monthly events in 2016:
– Instruments 4 Life
– (ISC)2 Charitable & Educational Foundation
– Veterans Art Center Tampa Bay
– OASIS Network
– CASA (Community Action Stops Abuse)
– Champions for Children
– Pediatric Cancer Foundation
– PACE Center for Girls, Hillsborough
– National Society to Prevent Blindness (d/b/a Prevent Blindness Florida)
– Quantum Leap Farm
– AMI KIDS
“PPN aims to help several different causes that impact our area, including children, veterans, domestic violence survivors, animals and more,” said Alyssa Rhoads, founder of PPN and owner of Eventing Tampa Bay. “We had many deserving charities apply, and we selected the nonprofits we thought PPN could best help to make a significant difference in our community.”
At each event, PPN typically raises between $1,500 and $2,000 for the beneficiary, as well as increases awareness of the charity and its mission. Since it was founded in 2012, PPN has raised more than $50,000 for Tampa Bay nonprofits.
In addition to the nonprofits selected to benefit from its monthly events, PPN also selected Jillian’s Dream as the nonprofit to support for its December 2016 volunteer opportunity.
PPN events are open to all Tampa Bay professionals. There are no annual fees, no commitments and no exclusivity. PPN requires a $10 donation at the door to benefit the organization of the month. The donation includes a free beverage and appetizers from the venue hosting that month, which in the past have included Ava, Del Frisco’s, Eddie V’s, Flemings, Timpanos, Irish 31 and Hula Bay, to name a few.
PPN‘s board members are Valerie Ellis, Camille Gomez, Courtney Lovinger, Amanda Page, Alyssa Rhoads, Kostas Stoilas.
