Tampa, FL (Nov. 18, 2015) … An exciting dining experience featuring a tasty selection of well-balanced dishes that invite diners to indulge, while also providing them with nutritious, delicious options, opens Monday at International Plaza’s Bay Street. The new Tampa location represents the first out-of-state expansion for Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen, currently operating in downtown Chicago.
Following in the successful footsteps of Chicago’s Gold Coast and River North neighborhood locations, Tampa’s Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen occupies a fully renovated site, which encompasses a 4,200-square-foot interior plus a 700-square-foot patio. This site is the largest Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen built to-date. A Fort Lauderdale location is scheduled to open in the summer of 2016.
Craig Bernstein, founder of this fresh casual dining experience, opened the first Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen restaurant in 2013 and added the second just nine months later. While menus vary slightly in each location, every Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen sources ingredients locally but goes beyond buying from nearby businesses to ensure it uses the highest quality ingredients available. That commitment to quality requires it to fly in fresh tuna from Hawaii and ship Shanghai lo mein noodles from San Francisco. The chicken served at every restaurant is sourced from a small farm in Arkansas that is known for its free-range, antibiotic-free, vegetarian-fed poultry. Beef is sourced to ensure it complies with the Beef Marketing Group’s “never-ever” natural program that mandates never any hormones or antibiotics administered and that a diet of only grass and grain is used to raise cattle (http://www.beefmarketinggroup.com/natural-beef/). Salmon is shipped from the Faroe Islands (http://www.salmon-from-the-faroe-islands.com) where the aquaculture industry is committed to maintaining the “highest levels of fish welfare and sustainability.”
Expanding to Florida enables Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen to introduce its signature, freshly made, cooked-to-order dishes, seasonal selections and balanced range of menu offerings that allow guests lots of choices. There are hamburgers, turkey burgers and veggie burgers, made-to-order salads, “very special entrees,” and crave-worthy sandwiches. The restaurant’s goal is to cater to everyone, regardless of their preferred dining experience. With an extensive, but approachable, menu, Doc B’s does just that.
“We know that the dishes we create and the type of dining experience we offer is perfect for the Florida lifestyle. Doc B’s is the spot for lunch, an after workout boost or a casual, yet sophisticated, dinner,” said Bernstein. The restaurant also provides guests with an extensive, well-priced wine list, a fresh juice-based signature cocktail program and seasonal, as well as local, beers. Doc. B’s brews Bow Truss coffee, making Tampa the first Florida restaurant to serve the Chicago-based specialty coffee roaster’s coffee and espresso products.
Open for lunch and dinner daily, Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen is sure to draw crowds for casual meals, date night dinners, after-work get togethers and anyone eager to enjoy a specialty cocktail or craft beer while seated around the lively bar, the outdoor patio or near the fire pit.
Bernstein originated the look, feel and food for Doc B’s Fresh Kitchen, naming it after his late father, Dr. Bernstein.
The new Tampa location is full service restaurant. Menus will change quarterly to make the most of seasonal ingredients and will offer balanced options, signature items and customer favorites that range from sandwiches and salads to starters, entrees and desserts that are all made in-house every single day.
