The Cardozo Leadership Award recognizes the exemplary contributions Bokor has made to the legal community and to the Tampa Bay Jewish community over the course of his career.
Bruce Bokor is a partner in the Clearwater office of Johnson Pope Bokor Ruppel & Burns. A firm member since 1977, Bokor has extensive experience in planning for the sale and purchases of businesses, trusts and estates planning, and business law. His clientele includes successful businesspersons, professionals, closely–held businesses, charitable groups and other individuals with special tax planning or estate planning needs.
Bokor is an honors graduate of the University of Florida, for both his undergraduate and law degrees, and he also earned an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University.
Bokor has served as the chair of numerous boards, including the Board of Trustees of Morton Plant Mease Hospitals, the Morton Plant Hospital Foundation, the Pinellas County Trustees of the Tampa-Orlando- Pinellas Jewish Foundation and the University of Florida Levin College of Law Board of Trustees. He also has previously chaired the Florida Bar Tax Section and the Pinellas County Estate Planning Council.
He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Clearwater Bar Association, the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, the American College of Tax Counsel, the American Law Institute and the American Bar Foundation. Bokor was named “Mr. Clearwater” in 2009.
When he is not working hard for clients, Bokor spends his time golfing, fishing, and hanging out with friends and family. Bokor says that the secret to success is to enjoy what you do, enjoy your clients and try to learn something new and better every day.
