ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (November 11, 2015) – Staff from Sun Country Cleaners presented PARC with a check for $16,485 from its Unclaimed Clothing Sale on Nov. 11 at PARC’s main campus.
The sale took place at the PARC Thrift Store, located at 5825 66th St. N, with the line winding around the building before the doors opened at 8 a.m. on Nov. 7. Each item in the sale sold for $5, and close to 3,300 items were sold during the event.
“Sun Country Cleaners is happy to donate all of the proceeds from this event to PARC,” said Dan Madine, Sun Country Cleaners’ chief operations officer. “This is the ninth time the sale has been held, and each year it gets bigger and bigger.”
All proceeds from this annual sale benefit PARC, a non-profit agency supporting children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Since the sale began, Sun Country has donated more than $100,000 to PARC through it.
“We are so thankful to our corporate partners, like Sun Country Cleaners, for their support of PARC,” said Karen Higgins, PARC’s president and CEO. “Through this sale, almost $16,500 will provide critical services to more than 800 adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”
