ST. PETERSBURG, Fla — Acrobatic performers, strolling entertainers and more than 125 local businesses will fill South Straub Park in St Petersburg to celebrate the biggest buy local celebration in Tampa Bay!
LocalShops1’s Shopapalooza Festival is back, and this year it has doubled! The event takes place 10 am to sunset Saturdays, Nov. 21 & 28, at South Straub Park in downtown St. Petersburg. Admission is free.
The annual event, known as Tampa Bay’s Local Alternative to Black Friday, features swag, sales and prizes from more than 125 independently owned businesses and artists in the Tampa Bay region.
The event also features live entertainment, demonstrations, and more. Also represented at Shopapalooza are some of the area’s top arts institutions and nonprofit organizations, including the Mahaffey Theater, American Stage Theater and CASA.
This year’s entertainment include specially choreographed acrobatic performances by Cirque City in Clearwater, strolling entertainment by Ciara Carinici’s theatrical troupe, DJ MC White, and more.
Our special sections include the Children’s Zone, sponsored by Great Explorations Children’s Museum, featuring plenty of activities and crafts (check out Great Exploration’s spin art demonstrations!), plus local businesses offering clothing, toys, gifts and services for parents, babies and children.
Other sections include an expanded Artists Village and a silent auction to benefit The Kind Mouse Productions.
“Shopapalooza is a way to celebrate and spotlight the great independent businesses that make Tampa Bay such an amazing place,” says Ester Venouziou, LocalShops1 founder. “It gives consumers the opportunity to kick off the holiday shopping season by shopping locally!”
Vendor spots are mostly sold out, with only six spaces still available. For more event information, including how to become a vendor, email firstname.lastname@example.org. For media and other inquiries, email Ester Venouziou at email@example.com.
