SARASOTA/BRADENTON, FL – Goodwill Manasota has recently hired Shea Hairston to assume the role of director of logistics and transportation for the industry-leading nonprofit organization. Hairston brings four years of professional experience as a team leader coach with the Memphis Goodwill to the table; his work has included the areas of transportation, donation center operations and post-retail operations.
In his new role, Hairston will oversee the transportation department, including the fleet that moves product throughout the network of retail stores and donation centers, the home services department which picks up donations at homes, as well as salvage operations, including the final processing of unsold items that are resold to outside buyers.
He is not completely new to the Goodwill Manasota family – Hairston worked for Goodwill’s North Mississippi territory while it was under a leasing agreement with Goodwill Manasota, prior to its acquisition by the Memphis territory. He has visited the area previously and was in attendance at the 2014 grand opening of Goodwill Manasota’s corporate campus in Bradenton.
“I am very excited to be a part of the Goodwill Manasota team once again and look forward to being a part of the wonderful culture that exists here. I am a strong believer that people are our greatest assets and that all things great can be accomplished with teamwork,” Hairston said. “I see the tremendous opportunity for cost savings, improvements in efficiencies and increased revenues as a result of the use of our new equipment, new relationships and our new facility for the transportation and salvage departments.”
“With his history with the Goodwill organization and an understanding of how to improve processes within a company, Shea is a welcome addition to the Goodwill team. He brings a fresh perspective on sales and project management, which we value highly,” said Bob Rosinsky, Goodwill Manasota president and CEO. “Goodwill Manasota continues to grow and thrive as our impact and our reach increases, and we are proud to continue creating jobs in our community. With the addition of team members like Shea, we can continue to serve our mission and the community well.”
Prior to the Memphis Goodwill, Shea worked as an outside commercial sales representative for Fundcraft Publishing in Collierville, Tenn. and, before that, as the vice president of operations at Cornerstone Graphics in Southaven, Miss.
