Third annual signature gala benefits Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County
St. Petersburg, FL – America’s favorite gardening expert, P. Allen Smith, will serve as the Honorary Chairman of BLUEPRINT – Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County’s largest fundraising event and the organization’s third annual signature gala. BLUEPRINT’s highly-anticipated theme of Great Gardens will celebrate fabled spaces and enchanting places – secret green worlds tucked behind courtyard walls and ancient gates. Smith’s special appearance will bring his authentic love of gardens and outdoor living to life during one of the area’s most unique occasions taking place at The Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort on the evening of Saturday, March 5, 2016.
P. Allen Smith is an award-winning food, lifestyle and garden expert, author and host of two public television programs, P. Allen Smith’s Garden Home and P. Allen Smith’s Garden to Table, and the syndicated 30-minute show, P. Allen Smith Gardens. Smith is one of America’s most recognized and respected garden design experts, providing ideas and inspiration through multiple media venues. He is the author of the best-selling Garden Home series of books published by Clarkson Potter/Random House, including Bringing the Garden Indoors: Container, Crafts and Bouquets for Every Room, published in 2009. His latest book, P. Allen Smith’s Seasonal Recipes from the Garden, was released in December 2010, and was inspired by the abundance of food from his farm and a family of great cooks. Smith is also a regular contributor on NBC’s The TODAY Show.
Designed to provide additional funding resources for Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County’s affordable homeownership program for limited-income families, BLUEPRINT: Great Gardens takes its theme from Habitat’s for Humanity’s belief in providing a nurturing place for families to grow and take root. The gala will feature lush and inviting dining environments, created by 15 local designers, each providing a special dining experience for event sponsors and their guests. Adding to this unique “dinner party” setting will be interactive cocktail stations, entertainment and an exclusive, one-of-a-kind auction featuring individual works of art created by more than 20 local artists upcycling gently-used furniture provided by Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore.
Entry into this innovative experience and fundraising event for Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas County begins at $175 per person, with tables of 10 available at a variety of levels.
