Five affiliates of Rebuilding Together unite to invest in the revitalization of Florida neighborhoods
TAMPA, Fla. – Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay (RTTB), along with four other Florida affiliates of Rebuilding Together – North Central Florida, Orlando, Broward County and Miami Dade – has announced the statewide launch of the “Building Healthier Neighborhoods in Florida” program.
First implemented in 2014 by RTTB to help revitalize Sulphur Springs, one of Tampa’s most distressed neighborhoods, the program is a comprehensive community revitalization effort that provides immediate quality-of-life improvements to homeowners in need.
“We are excited to work with our Rebuilding Together partners to deliver this meaningful and impactful program across the state to provide families in need with a safe and healthy home,” said Jose Garcia, executive director of RTTB. “Now that we have launched statewide, our next goal is to implement this program with other Rebuilding Together affiliates across the country.”
“Building Healthier Neighborhoods in Florida” provides housing condition assessments, installs several home improvement products via a Healthy Home Kit, offers home maintenance and fiscal educational workshops, and coordinates beautification and wellness campaigns.
With the expansion of “Building Healthier Neighborhoods in Florida,” each affiliate will work with its respective partners and sponsors to continue implementing the program as a year-round service to low-income residents.
