Lakeland, FL – In honor of American Diabetes Month in November, Watson Clinic will proudly provide free blood sugar screenings from 7:30 am to 12 pm on Wednesday, November 4 and Thursday, November 19 from the lobby of our new Highlands facility at 2300 E. County Rd. 540A in south Lakeland.
“Elevated blood sugar levels are one of the first indicators that you may have prediabetes or diabetes,” says Watson Clinic diabetes education coordinator Lynda Chaffin, RN, CDE. “According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, up to one in four people with diabetes don’t even realize they have it, and one in three adults in the United States have prediabetes. That’s why events like this one are so important in spreading awareness and information.”
A simple fingerstick blood sugar reading will be performed, and participants will receive their results immediately. These screenings are available to patients of Watson Clinic and non-patients alike.
