The St. Petersburg Arts Alliance is delighted to announce a contribution from the St. Petersburg Wine and Food Festival in support of the St. Petersburg Second Saturday ArtWalk. Festival co-founders, Dawna Stone and Matt Dieter donated the proceeds from the Wine Pairings Dinner, the kick-off event for the September festival. Held at the Birchwood Hotel, the elaborate, intimate six-course dinner was a culinary arts triumph for wine and food connoisseurs.
“We are very pleased to present John with this check from our first Wine and Food Festival,” states Ms. Stone. We chose the Arts Alliance as our partner because of the service programs that the Arts Alliance provides the creative community. It is gratifying to know that our donation will support the Second Saturday ArtWalk to help our local artists, studios and galleries be successful.”
The Waterfront Arts District, Central Arts District, EDGE District, Grand Central District, and the Warehouse Arts District become one arts destination every second Saturday of the month. “One hundred percent of this contribution will go toward growing ArtWalk,” states Collins. “Their support, along with sponsorship from Duke Energy, will ensure that we not only continue ArtWalk, but also build marketing and promotion over 12 months to attract collectors to St. Petersburg.”
Be the first to see new affordable works of art, as ArtWalk is Opening Night where many galleries and studios premiere new works. It’s impossible to take in the entire ArtWalk in one night! Visitors may drive, walk, or take the free trolleys to visit the districts. The next ArtWalk will be presented on November 14 from 5 to 9 p.m.
Free ArtWalk trolleys encompass the arts districts. Free parking can be found on 1st Ave N and 1st Ave S from 15th St. to 30th St., The Clay Center of St. Petersburg, MGA Studios and the Dr. Carter G. Woodson African American Museum.
