ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (October 27, 2015) – Ready to start your holiday shopping early? Then stop in to PARC’s eighth annual “Art in the PARC” this November.
The event takes place on Friday, Nov. 13 from 3 – 8 p.m. at Duke Energy, located at 299 1st Avenue North in St. Petersburg. This free indoor event features more than a thousand pieces of artwork and jewelry created by artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities who participate in the Inspired Artist Studios @ PARC. The event also includes food, refreshments and music. All artwork and jewelry sold that evening directly benefits PARC Art Programs, as well as the artists.
Guests will stroll through the Duke Energy lobby, filled with custom paintings, jewelry, pottery, fabric sculptures, and art prints which were created by PARC artists. PARC artists will also be on hand to meet guests and discuss their work. The Inspired Artist Studios @ PARC promote each artist’s inclusion at local venues and their contributions to the cultural and economic heart of the community. Artists receive half the proceeds on their work. Also at the event, in addition to expressive art, PARC’s Inspired Choir will perform a handful of songs.
Since 1953, PARC has been supporting children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by offering a variety of services focused on their unique needs and goals. For more information about “Art in the PARC”, call 727-341-6931.
