French Gastronomy Month comes to the United States in November and the French American Business Council of West Florida joins the French Miami Chamber in promoting the historically renowned French cuisine with the very first local FRENCH TASTE WEEK I 11 restaurants in 3 counties I October 29-November 5, 2015
19th and 20th century American chefs looked to the French for inspiration, guidance, and secrets. Today’s American chefs have developed their own identity. Is there a remnant of the old French culinary expertise and how has it been incorporated into the 21st century kitchen?
2 American chefs, Ted Dorsey (The Mill, St Petersburg) and Ryan Steffensmeier (Parts of Paris, Safety Harbor) will discuss their personal journeys, complete with culinary flair and references.
2 French chefs, Dominique Christini (Cafe Largo, Largo) and Jose Martinez (Maison Blanche, Sarasota) will recount their American culinary journeys and how the local culture has influenced their chosen professions.
Emmanuel Roux, (Gateau-o-Chocolat, UFP Consultants-a food concept development company, and proprietor of former local dining gems} will moderate this unique event with knowledge, charm and wit.
