Lakeland, FL – Watson Clinic is pleased to welcome the newest member of our orthopaedic surgery team. Amun Makani, MD will offer a host of highly advanced surgical procedures, including minimally invasive joint reconstruction and replacement, sports medicine, rotator cuff repair, and much more.
Dr. Makani received his medical degree from Northwestern University/Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. He completed his internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. He then performed a fellowship in sports medicine and orthopaedic surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, and an additional fellowship in joint reconstruction and preservation at Newton Wellesley Hospital & Massachusetts General Hospital/Kaplan Joint Center in Newton, MA.
Mr. Makani is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine, the American Association of Hip & Knee Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the Polk County Medical Association.
