October 14, 2015 (TAMPA, FL) – The Greater Tampa Bay chapter of Women In Defense (WID GTB) is pleased to announce its newly elected board for 2015-2016.
Newly elected president Janel Brown is the Director of Special Operations Solutions at Digital Globe’s Tampa Office. The Naval Reserve Officer is excited about the continued growth for WID in the next year. “We had a great inaugural leadership team that grew our membership base to more than 175 women and men in just two years,” Brown explains. “I’m really looking forward to continuing to offer our members superb programming and professional development opportunities and also seeing the impact we can create not just in the defense community, but the Tampa Bay area as a whole.”
Other officers include Deborah Miller of Celestar Corp, Vice President; Jenny O’Connor of Quiet Professionals, Secretary; and Rita Maxwell of VATC, Treasurer. Newly elected directors are Jennifer Metz of VATC, Communications; Julie George of Jacobs, Membership; Mary Allison Yourchisin of AC4S, Programs; Hunter Jones of BAH, Sponsorship; Denise Ennis of Pragmatics, Community Relations; and Sally T. Woodward of Shutts & Bowen, Scholarship.
The organization’s local chapter was founded in 2013 and encourages the advancement and recognition of women working in all areas of national security in the bay area.
