Tommy Castro and The Painkillers perform along with Sarasota band Tucci
SARASOTA, FL, October 9, 2015 – Blues fans of all ages will rock out as legendary band, Tommy Castro and The Painkillers and special guests Tucci, take the stage at the Sahib Shriners Hall in Sarasota on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 7 pm. WMNF blues radio personality Larry Lisk will emcee the event.
This special concert is being hosted by co-promoters Hideaway Music and their parent company, Gulf Breeze Music. Ticket cost is $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

Tommy Castro is an award winning rock and blues guitarist known for his soulful voice and searing guitar style. He was named Entertainer of the Year for the 2008 Blues Music Awards. Castro has earned fame for his signature brand of tough, gritty and rocking, rhythm and blues performances. His style was heavily influenced by music greats Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, B.B. King and Ray Charles. Steve “Doc” Tucci, leader of the band Tucci said, “Our band is elated to share the stage with Tommy Castro and The Painkillers. They are sure to bring an irresistible contemporary blues rock performance full of grit and soul to the Sarasota audience.”
Sarasota’s funk, R&B, Jazz and Rock band Tucci will open for Castro. Among the night’s highlights, Tucci will be debuting songs off their latest CD, Olivia, including new single, “Gotta Stop”, a song about drug and alcohol awareness. Along with their most recent songs, Tucci will be performing some noted classics: “Gimme Some of Your Love”, “Whipping Post” and “Stormy Monday”.
Tucci’s new CD, Olivia, will be available for sale at the show. It features famous blues guitarist Larry McCray, who is known for his powerful blues guitar and vocals. Doc Tucci said, “We are excited to be playing our new songs, and were thrilled to have the opportunity to record with Larry. “ Adding, “All of our CD’s include one of Dan’s (Toler) songs. We want his music and his legacy to continue for all blues fans.”
Tucci, formerly known as The Toler Tucci Band was a collaboration of renowned blues artist and Allman Bros. member Dan Toler and Steve “Doc” Tucci. This was Toler’s last project before dying in 2013 from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Other members of Tucci include: Michael Tucci on drums, Harry Debusk on bass and vocals, Shawn Murphy on sax and vocals, and Mickey Basil on keyboards.
