Attendance expected to grow by the thousands this year due to additional funding & new Vendors& Events
John’s Pass Village, Madeira Beach, FL, Oct 23rd Weekend 2015— One of the longest running Seafood Festivals in America is getting ready to gear up for one of the biggest Festivals in their history. Sonny Flynn-Board of Directors for John’s Pass Village Association was able to secure additional funding for the Festival this year. “I am ecstatic that we are able to raise the level of exposure & tourism to our area” says Sonny Flynn.
The Festival was founded by the Association in 1980 to celebrate the abundant fish of John’s Pass, “The Grouper Capital of the World”. This Festival is the first of its kind in Pinellas County and has brought hundreds of thousands of visitors for 33 years since its inception and continues to be a popular festival favorite.
This FREE event covers every generation and demographic and has all the elements it takes to please them. The Largest Seafood Selection on the West Coast, Live Music Country-Reggae, Family Fun-Crab Races-Fishing Tournament (Battle in the Gulf), Trick or Treating & Kids & Adult Costume Contest with $1,000 cash prizes & more.
New Events this year will launch the Seafood Festival to new record number such as the Sunday Brunch Hosted by Bubba Gump’s boasting attempting the “World’s Largest Bloody Mary Toast” for the World Record.
“This Festival promotes the positive social and economic importance that Seafood& Fishing has not only in Pinellas County but the entire State of Florida” say Matt Powers-Board Member & Owner of Mad Beach Craft Brewing Company . The Fishing and Seafood Industry is a Multi-Billion Dollar Industry for the State of Florida and provides thousands of jobs for our economy. Events such as this entice Tourists from a local, statewide & international level to put “heads in the beds” and support the Tourist based economy that Pinellas County & the State of Florida have grown on.
