TAMPA, Fla. (October 1, 2015) – A total of 40 prominent Tampa Bay buildings such as Moffitt Cancer Center, Straz Center for the Performing Arts, Tampa City Center and Westin Tampa Bay will light up their buildings and landscaping in pink throughout the month of October to promote breast cancer awareness.
Led by Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Tampa Bay’s “City in Pink” program, 40 buildings in the Tampa Bay area will display the color pink through exterior lighting, landscape lights, dyed or lit fountains, flowers, ribbons, banners and lobby lighting.
The Straz Center will turn the building’s LED lighting pink for the first week of October, while both Le Meridian and downtown Tampa’s Fifth Third Center will plant pink flowers and landscaping in addition to changing the exterior lighting. Amelia Arena will also light up pink from Oct. 17 through the 28th.
“We are combining our connections in commercial real estate with our passion to support breast cancer awareness,” said Katie Gower, CREW Tampa Bay Board Member leading the City in Pink initiative, and Director of Business Development at Ed Taylor Construction. “For our first year, we are thrilled to have 40 buildings participating.
