Tampa, FL, September 24, 2015 — No longer just a yoga festival, Rasa-Lila Fest grows into a full health and wellness festival that incorporates all aspects of healthy living. With a new stage dedicated to fusion fitness classes, a Boot-camp like obstacle course, and more wellness seminars than ever, this festival brings a day and a half of knowledge and fun into all things healthy.

This year’s festival takes place November 6-7, 2015 at the Camp Brorein Campgrounds in Odessa, Florida and features over 30 classes taught by top, sought out teachers. Attendees are given a festival map and schedule so they can design their day with classes going every hour from 9am-4:30 pm. The day closes with a special closing ceremony that will feature rhythmic vocals and group meditation.
The festival kicks off with a Friday night dance/yoga class that is a high energy and upbeat experience called the Revolution: LOVElution the Friday Night Jam. This class features live music with killer DJ beats from DJ Menscha, expertly led by our skilled yoga teacher, Jen Lowery DeBuhr, as she takes you on a journey of yoga, music, and dance. You will wind down to the beautiful lyrics of Beautiful Chorus, who are on tour from Orlando.
Founded by real estate entrepreneur, Nathan Bangs, as a way to bring members of the wellness community together, this festival has grown into the foremost health and wellness festival in the Southeast. Drawing a crowd of almost 1,000 people last year and being featured on PBS, this festival is a “must”.
According to Bangs, this year’s growth into more fitness offerings, was logical and a reflection of how people find health. “When Rasa-Lila Fest began, it was based on the simple vision of bringing the yoga community together. What I started to see was that a healthy person moves their body in a variety of ways, not just in yoga movements. A healthy person stretches, meditates, keeps stress low, does some cardio, maybe even dances…all as ways to live balanced lives. This festival reflects that. You are going to relax, but you are also going to sweat and feel a challenge because it is good for you! And with all of this taking place under the canopy of beautiful oak trees, a day in nature recharges the busy person in a very healing way.”
Rasa-Lila means “the dance of love” in Sanskrit and aims to give participants an enjoyable wellness experience. Beginning Friday night with a high-energy yoga class led by St. Petersburg yoga teacher, Jen Lowery, attendees can choose to camp out under the stars or in the VIP covered camp area. Either way, all have access to the fire pit and facilities that include indoor bathrooms and showers.
Saturday begins with a meditation and then over 30 yoga and fusion fitness classes and wellness seminars throughout the day, including kids yoga. Stand-up paddle boarding and canoes are available with SUP Yoga offered on a first come basis. The festival is family friendly and does not sell beer or wine. Kids under 12 go free!
