April Holmes, the 2015 NCAA Inspirational Athlete of the Year, will make a special presentation on Monday, October 12, at 7 p.m. in the Student Community Center Greenfelder-Denlinger Boardrooms at University Campus in Saint Leo. The community is invited this free event. Campus parking is available.
A three-time Paralympic medalist and world record holder, she has an inspiring story that appeals to many audiences. Her program, “Stop Limping Thru Life and Start Running,” addresses overcoming obstacles and achieving greatness.
Superstar athlete Michael Jordan said of Holmes: “She is a tremendous athlete, but more importantly, she is an incredible person. She has overcome so much, and remains one of the most positive people I have ever met. April’s strength of character and the motivation she provides to others are truly an inspiration.”
